Went to the ting ting's concert yesterday with Jon and I was in the FRONT ROW!! started queueing at 4:30pm and we were like the 2nd people in the queue. So naturally we were at the immediate front, barely 5 metres from the stage. merely had time to grab a quick beer before it started getting crowded with prepubescent teenagers who were pushing us forward all the time in an effort to get to the stage; they wanted every bit of space they could get, to the point where they actually asked Jon to stand straight so they could utilise the space in between his legs and the barrier. It was all getting quite bloody irritating, especially due to the fact that they were pushing forward at a time when there was'nt a single band on stage! there was this 12 year old boy who actually asked me to move aside because he could'nt see over me. gee next time YOU try qeueing at 4:30pm..
The 2 preceding acts were, while not bad, were totally not what I came to see. So we both just patiently waited until 9:30pm, when Jules and Katie came on(And Katie was really really HOT) anyway they played every single song off 'We started Nothing', and we were basically alternating between yelling our heads off and staring in awe at them playing. They sound really great live and had pretty damn good stagemanship, knocking off mikestands and drums although that might not have been on purpose. regrettably, the concert ended pretty early at 10:30pm with no encore, although they did play every single song on their album. but i guess that's what happens when you've only released 1 album in which the majority of the songs don't hit the 3 minute mark. Still, they got off the stage to shake hands and all, and I shook both their hands!! so cool right? there was'nt really much left to do after that except go home remarking about how freaking sweet the whole experience was. More than made up for the extra 40 dollars we unwittingly forked out to pay a normal ticket.
